You’re about to migrate your data centre to the cloud. However, before you do that you want to find all the PTR records on your existing networks and make sure you replicate them on your new network. Our ‘ptr’ tool can help you quickly scan your subnet, giving you human readable and easily grep’able output.

dns-tools ptr --ip <address range>

Now that you have all the PTR records for your subnet, you can find all the mail servers, for example, that are going to be affected by the move and make sure their PTR records are updated accordingly.
